Foreword As the University of Missouri-Rolla nears its hundredth year various expansion programs shift into high gear. Rapidly advancing tech- nology makes the roles of the engineer and scientist increasingly vital. In order to keep pace with present and future demands for technically trained personnel the campus of the University of Missouri-Rolla is undergoing ex- tensive face-lifting. The Centennial Challenge Program, a drive for S69 million by 1970, will provide funds for student aid, faculty develop- ment, off-campus programs, research, building projects, and equipment. The following pages show UMR,s transition from design to reality.
