Ernest P. Hendrix Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds A man who is very much on the inside in the new M.S.M. construction program is Ernest P. Hendrix, Buildings and Grounds Superintend- ent. Mr. Hendrix has the essential job of act- ing as coordinator between the school and the contractor. He is thoroughly familiar with the requirements of each of the new buildings, and with this knowledge acts as the school's official advisor to the construction firm. Mr. Hendrix has been connected with the School of Mines since 1943. During this period he has become one of the key men on the M.S.M. administrative staff. l Harr J. Fields Business Manager Mr. Fields first began his employment at M.S.M. in Ianfuary, l946, as auditor, and, in the course of several months, ac- quired his present status as business manager. Since he took over this posi- tion his job has been increasingly diffi- cult because of the intensive building program and the greatly expanded en- rollment. As a result of this high enroll- ment, and the corresponding wear upon the school buildings, maintenance prob- lems have become increasingly vexing. In all, the total volume of expenditures has increased to three times that of nor- mal years. Mr. Fields has done an ex- cellent job in coping with the added dif- ficulties confronting his position. , my ,fLftL..,,g,, ' f' -gi t ft- , Page Seventeen
