The American Institute of Electrical En- gineers has presented a series of pro- grams during the school year designed, primarily, to acquaint the students of the E. E. Department with the aspects of en- gineering in industry. Meetings have included an introductory Get Acquainted Smoker , a lecture on Hot Line Maintenance by a staff mem- ber, a talk on Sales Engineering by cm electrical sales engineer, a discussion of Measuring Instruments by a Weston engineer, and Frontiers in Engineering by a prominent representative of one of the large electrical manufacturing com- panies. The student branch holds an annual banquet at one of the Rolla hotels, usually in the middle of May. About the same time, two students of this branch, selected on merits of a technical paper presented to the faculty, attend the A.l.E.E. South- West District meeting and present their papers at that meeting.
