MECHANICS The purpose of the Mechanics Department is to teach the students the principles ol that science which treats the effects rl forces on bodies. The Department of Mathematics has as its object the training of students in the fundamental operations of the various branches of the subject along with a certain amount of application to elementary engineering problems.
