The basic sciences mentioned above constitute 40 per cent of the course, while the remaining 60 per cent is taken up with work in several specialized engineering subjects. The Missouri Clay Testing and Research Laboratories are operated in connection with the Ceramic Engineering Department, which allows ceramic students to gain an intimate knowledge of standard testing methods and research procedure.
