The Chart was specifically cited for coverage and content; writing and editing; opinion content and design. Special mention was made of sports writing and editorial columns. The Associated Collegiate Press each semester honors the nations college newspapers by a critique of each edition published during a se¬ mester. Music Plays a Major Role at Southern The Missouri Southern State College Commun ity Symphony Orchestra under the direction of William Elliott, assistant professor of music, presented a Fall Concert on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16. The performance was in Thomas E. Taylor Auditorium on campus. The 45- piece ensemble includes among its members college music faculty and stu¬ dents, public school music educators, and outstanding amateur musicians from the area. The orchestra disband¬ ed Spring semester because not enough of the members returned. 30
