Their appearances in Happy Days, Midnight Special and in American Graffiti preceded their local debut. WOODY HERMAN, a great jazz band leader for forty years, lead his band—all in their twenties—through a sensational concert of blues, jazz and rock. His “Thundering Herd” proved there is nothing old fashioned about the big band sound, as the audience clapped and cheered and stood for a thunderous ovation. 26
