THE FRESHMAN CLASS It is customary to speak of a freshman class as a naive group with youngster ways and juvenile ideas. This year’s freshman class proved to be an exception. Their calm, poised intellectuality was balanced by their endless spontaneity and wholesome freshness. Their ideas were carefully considered by the more experienced. Their enthusiasm was injected into every college activity. Their superior mentality was reflected in their work. They were welcomed by every¬ one as potential college leaders. Guided by their class officers, president Dave Remillard, vice president Dick Rudolph, and secretary Lillian Shaw, they have done much towards making this 1939-1940 school year a successful one for Joplin Junior College.
