VISIIAE EIIUBAEIUN A field in which great strides of progress have been made in recent years is that of visual education, in which motion pictures combined with sound are used to augment text-book, lecture, and laboratory work. It has been proved conclusively that pictured information is more easily assimilated and rc- tained than information acquired by any other means. Various departments of the Academy make use of this new teaching aid.

In addition, it offers many splendid ref- erence works and select lists of standard novels. A reading room is provided where many of the best magazines and newspapers may be found.
