In the midst of this existence lies one of man’s “noblest instincts, the pursuit of excellence and the drive for self- improvement that students at The Valley adopt in their own way. The 1977 Delvian follows its predecessors in reporting the nurtur- ing and development of the students at this University who come TO STRIVE. .. TO SEEK. . . TO LEARN. . . THE FOURTH ANNUAL CAREER FAIR, sponsored by the Career Counseling and Placement Office, is another example of how MVSU strives to pres- ent learning opportunities to Valley students and students from the surrounding community. Indeed, it took a lot of hard work, time, and energy, but finally a dream of hope became a reality. The 1977 Delvian reminds us of many cherished memories — the joys, sorrows, and sur- prises that happened during the past year. We have attempted to capture, in pictures and words, some of the moments that may have made the year special at Mississippi Valley State University. | wish to express sincere gratitude to the staff and section editors who alleviated much of the work that had to be done. Special thanks and appreciation to Miss Hattie Jenkins, Advi- sor, and Mr. Floyd Bailey, Photographer, for their assistance — without their immobile initi- ative the Delvian would not have been completed. My sincere thanks also goes to Mrs. M. E. Fingal, Director of Development Services, for her moral support — a much needed asset in the production of this yearbook. To all Delvians, | present to you the 1977 Delvian. We, the staff, truly hope you will enjoy this edition. It is understood that no two men see things exactly the same, so try to see this review the way we saw it, and next year add a helping hand. 4 SPUROEET ET Vi TPMT TIITAE) PETA SEPT OEE EIDE IEA LST ERTS ET) [5 CED EE SN TAH LASER TNH STS IE PDT Ld 0 SE SS IE TD et.
