Dr. Durfee with pipe in hand stands strong. Cestures, expression, vivacious personality enhance biology classes for freshmen. Art and Biology The study of the arts and sciences brings forth the past, improves the present, and reaches into the future. The instructors in these de- partments strive constantly to encourage students to use their originality and knowledge to improve the world about them. The Art Department exhibited and honored Ida Kohlmeyer, famous artist, who visited the campus, at a formal reception. 7-3
