Town Merchants Host MSU Welcome State Party Again this year, the Oktibbeha County Cham- ber of Commerce sponsored the annual Welcome State Party . This occasion better known as the street dance is as much a tradition of MSU as is the educational process. Free cokes, free movies, pretty girls, an old fashioned street dance, school spirit — all of this and much more combine to create a night of gaiety especially designed for the State students; and to you, the sponsors, we offer our sincerest thanks. 24

SA Concerts Attract Outstanding Professional Talent The Student Association Music Council, under the leadership of Social Chairman, Mike Frascogna, sponsored six concerts this year. The LOVING SPOONFUL, with special guests ART ROBERTS of WLS radio in Chicago and THE WEB SHOWBAND, set the pace. The Spoonful concert was a tremendous success and Frascogna knew he would have trouble filling their shoes. However, a double treat, with THE HAPPENINGS and internationally known DIONNE WARWICK turned out to be the perfect competitor. Then came the end of the first semester and the loud cry of JAMES BROWN and THE FAMOUS FLAMES. Sec- ond semester saw the appearance of THE BUCKINGHAMS for the kick-off show, fol- lowed by THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP. At press time arrangements were being made to bring THE TURTLES, THE FIFTH DI- MENSION, and THE YOUNG RASCALS to MSU. 23
