More and More of Them One of the most readily apparent aspects of the dynamic growth of Mississippi State is the outstanding increase in our co-ed population. The girls come for reasons which are characteristically feminine: some like the boy-girl ratio; some like the lack of competition for positions of leader- ship; some, of course, seriously seek an education. But re- gardless of why they came, they are a welcomed part of our student life.

Concentration: A Comedy in One Act Scene I: Scene II: Dramatis Personae: Student I, Student II, Student III, Professor Student I seated in a classroom poring over a book. The eye of the audience should see only the student holding his head in his left hand and his text in his right. The scene should evoke a of frustration . . . feeling Alone in the Old Engineering Building at 1:45 A.M. Student II should be seated to the rear of the stage, left of center, so that the empty chairs shown capture the loneliness inherent in the scene . . . Scene III: In the dorm after classes. With copy of most desired magazine on campus, Student III is contemplating an unorthodox philosophical system in a rare moment of tranquility. It is vital that the student be relaxed in a prone position. Scene IV: In a slightly disorganized office. The Professor should look com- fortable: leaning back, legs crossed, scrutinizing a paper. He must portray the self-confidence that comes from cultivating the art of concentration. 26
