DEAN ROBERT T. CLAPP The School Of Forestry Forestry Enrollment Reaches 141 141 students enrolled this year in Mississippi State University ' s baby school, The School of Forestry. Work in the Forestry School, like that in most schools, was not limited to classroom work, but included many interesting and educational hours of work in the field, putting classroom principles into practice. Physical facilities for forestry instruction are centered about the Northeast Mississippi Experimen- tal Forest, an 8,000 acre tract owned by the University and man- aged by the School of Forestry. This property, which furnishes valuable source materials for the foresters, lies within 11 miles of the school and is well stocked with a variety of timber species, tree species, and age classes. Mississippi State University and the School of Forestry, serve the people in a twofold way: educat- ing competent foresters and con- ducting research to Keep Mis- Forestry Students Keep Up With Latest Forestry Methods
