One of the first schools of the original Mississippi Agriculture and Mechanical College, our Agricultural School continues to go side by side with progress and now offers Bachelor of Science degrees in general agriculture, agricultural econonnics and admin- istration, agricultural engineering, agricultural education, agrononny, animal husbandry, dairying, horticulture, and poultry husbandry. In addition to the above degrees, a two-year pre-veterinary course is at the disposal of those desiring to qualify for admission to a professional school of veterinary medicine. Not only is the Agricultural School a vital part of Mississippi State University, but also its impact on the progress and agricul- tural developement of Mississippi can readily be observed. ini The Schools of Arts and Sciences is justly proud of its fine staff and admirable array of departments. The department of biological sciences-Bacteriology, Botany, Zoology and Entomology-consti- tutes a vital part of the school. Physical sciences are also well represented by departments in Geology, Chemistry and Physics. The Liberal Arts segment of the school boasts the departments of English, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy and Religi on.
