In this instance, the oscilloscope, which graphs electric im- pulses on a cathode ray tube, is being used as an elec- tronic air speed indicator. Co-ed Ann Edwards, Joe Dan Edwards, and lab instructor Charles F. Fowler observe a test tube of leaf extract (in Fowler ' s hand) which shows the separation of green and yellow pigments that are found in all green leaves. The pigments are ex- tracted by boiling the leaves in alcohol.
