• • OL SPRING SEMESTER J 1954 Laziness, loafing. Spring fever or what ever you want to call it, hits the campus hard dur- ing the Spring. It ' s here all year, but everybody seems to think Spring is an excuse to sleep. Wonder what Tom Mix has to say about it. Bet his dreams are of a girl or a fifth or both. What class are you supposed to be in, Tom?? Every year there are numer- ous picnics, suppers, break- fasts, outings, wiener roasts, marshmallow toastings, or whatever other name they give to parties in the woods at Chotaw. Above is a pic- ture taken when the Band had a picnic at Chotaw last year. The so-called Chefs are Ramsay, Shinn, Butts, Crigler, and Woods.

Pat Butler. Marvin Harris. Peggy Johnston, and Faye Brister are sitting around in a bull-session in front of Margardar Hall. On a pretty spring afternoon there can usually be found several couples lounging around on the front lawn, especially while the telephone strike was on. Many hours of leisure and class time is spent in the College Grill during Spring, Summer, Winter or anytime. In the pic- ture, the Noon rush is on which has a line all the way back outside and up to Main Dorm. This course is known as Grillology. Quite a few students have a 3. average in it for the four years they have attended State. But with Spring comes more parties and lovesick couples. A good exam- ple is shown above. Spring must really be working on Dal Hens on and Rebecca Allison. The weather never gets too cold or too hot to have a party around State. Mildred forgot her sun- glasses and had a hard time watching the base- ball game last Spring. With her is Dot Barton, who didn ' t return to school this year. There is usually a large turnout for the State baseball games on the campus. You can always hear Go to Hell Switzer ringing out from the State stands no matter who we ' re playing. prina fe ever With Spring comes green grass, leaves on trees, flowers ...
