REVEILLE The staff member returns. He is loaded with ideas. Wonderful ideas but we can ' t quit and go to the crossroads now. The edi- tors are dumbfounded. Or did they just find out that they were dumb? More advertisements, pictures, write-ups, etc., come in. So do a few coeds. The art editor comes in. The coeds leave. . . . and so it went every Wednesday night at the REVEILLE meeting. Do you still won- der how the REVEILLE got to press and then to you? Well, so do we, but here it is and we hope you like it. (J K Ha ft + V JOHNNY SPRUILL Editor-in-Chief Managing Editor and Snapshot Staff The Fraternities and Organizations Staff THE 1954 It ' s interesting to watch how the REV- EILLE goes to press. Some wonder not only how, but why. However, we shall discard the uninitiated from the realm of surrealistic nonsense, and peek through the transom at the brain-work that is putting the baby to bed. The editors are gathered around a Ouija Board. The managing editor walks in and everyone starts laughing. He swells with pride, thinking he said something funny un- til he remembers he hasn ' t opened his mouth. At this point, the business manager walks in with dollar bills sticking out of all his pockets. He is followed by the advertising manager who has five dollar bills sticking out of all his pockets. After all, Ben is a P-5 5 student. The rest of the business staff is late. They can ' t find any place to park their Cadillacs. The boss, Simon Legree Spruill, cracks his whip over the heads of the editorial staff to break up the crap game and the meeting is underway. The snapshots are being put on copy sheets. Someone breaks the bottle of Best- test rubber cement (Reg. U. S. Pat. Off.; guaranteed not to wrinkle, curl, or shrink). The snapshot editors go to the grill to have a big orange. After a while, someone thinks of an idea for the division pages. It stinks! They throw it out. They ' re getting nowhere, fast. Soon, a staff member leaves. He should have done this a long time ago. The others continue beating their heads against the wall. They ' re hanging a M.M. calendar and have lost the hammer. The Class Editors
