Business is the salt of life. Thomas Fuller. Our ; School of Business and Industry here at State, organized in 1915, is the oldest of its kind in the state and one of the oldest in the South. Through the years, since its estab- lishment, this school has branched out and grown into a center of knowl- edge that offers train- ing and instruction in all fields and phases of the business world. The pri- mary fields in our Business School are: (1) those con- cerned with professional busi- ness instruction, including the departments of accounting, busi- ness administration, and institu- tional and industrial management; (2) those departments concerned with instruction in the field of social sciences, including the departments of

The Schoo of Engineering was organized at ippi State College in 1901, although engineering has been taught as mechanic arts since the college first opened its doors in Octo- ber of 1880. From a rela- tively small beginning, this school has grown to where it now plays a major role in the activities of State. It houses many different departments and offers specialized instruction in the fields of Civil, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, and Agricultural Engineering. Of great help in the assimi lotion of advanced theoretical knowledge pre the extensive laboratories, where new experiments and advanced research are carried on.
