Clay Lyle SCHOOL OF DEAN OF SCIENCE In assuming his duties as Dean of the School of Science in 1945, Dr. Lyle fully realized the responsibility he was accepting. His immediate predecessor had established a precedent in the nature of required curriculum and he determined to respect the goals which Dr. Hand had set up. He always has a friendly smile an d a warm greeting for all students whether they be struggling through chemistry or battling with something else. His very human interpretation of problems thrown his way has won for him the respect and love of the students. Outside the classroom and his office, a lot of his time is devoted to work in the national biological and entomological associations. The School of Science, organized in 1903, is under the supervision of Dean Clay Lyle. It offers a Bachelor of Science degree in such major studies as Mathematics, the Physical Sciences, the Biological Sciences, Social Sciences and Languages. The School also grants shorter, special objective courses, such as pre-medical, pre-dental, and pre- clinical training. Forward progressive steps have been made since the organization of the Science School; today it is an efficient unit of the College— recognized as one of the best of its kind. Student Council Representatives, Baile y and Grice
