During the past few years the REVEILLE has endeavored to present a colorful pic- ture portraying the activities and devel- opment of some section of the College. This year the emphasis has been placed upon the phenomenal expansion of the College as a whole. More housing-more classroom facilities -increased curricula -efficient registra- tion of thousands-increased hundreds of papers to grade -these headaches and thousands more like them -whose are they? Who has to cope with the infinite number of problems involved in making the College operate? How are those problems solved? In these pages we present Mississippi State, the men on and behind the scenes of her functioning as an Institution of Higher Learning. %- P

ZIL GDVERNDR When the people of Mississippi were saddened by the death of Thomas L. Bailey, quiet, courteous, Lieutenant- Governor Fielding L. Wright assumed ofHce as their Gov- ernor. In these few .short months he has proved himself to be a wise leader, a capable governor, and a true friend of Mississippi State College Students. The Reveille, on behalf of the Student Body, extends sincere thanks to Governor Wright for his interest and service to the College and State. BDAHD of TRUSTEES The Board of Trustees of the Institutions of Higher Learning of Mississippi has final authority to elect the heads of the various Institutions of Higher Learning, all adminis- trative employees, the deans, and all other members of the instructional staffs. Theirs is the power to decide all im- portant issues affecting the Colleges. This year, as in the past, the Board has shown an inter- ested and cooperative attitude toward Mississippi State, a nd the Reveille is proud to express the appreciation of all State Students for this splendid spirit.
