sports People Boast of a Good Year The Mississippi Delta Junior Col- lege athletic department held its an- nual awards banquet for the athletes participating in the intercollegiate sports sponsored by the school. The banquet was held in the cafeteria. During the course of the night festiv- ities. Coach Jimmy Bellipanni as- sisted by the other Trojan coaches presented awards to 65 outstanding athletes. A resolution, passed by the Mississippi House of Representatives commending the Trojan football team for their outstanding perfor- mance in winning the state cham- pionship for the second year in a row, was read. The Trojans captured the state crown by upsetting Pearl River 21-17 at Poplarville November 17, 1973. 27

Yearbook Staff Hosts Workshop The Mississippi Delta Junior Publications Staff hosted a yearbook workshop on campus in the Stanny Sanders Library, Feb. 28. Instructors for the workshop were Mr. Ralph Fair of Paragon Press, Montgomery, Alabama and Mr. Les Lamb, profes sional photographer of Greenwood. The workshop covered layout, editorial writings, themes, photography, and advertising. It was planned to provide help for students coping with the problems of yearbook production. One hundred and twenty-one students attended. 28
