student council election committee The Judiciary Council is composed of students selected by SGA President Bobby Bassi in conjunction with the president of the college or his representative. The council has original jurisdiction over all matters involving the behavioral conduct of students at M.D.J.C. This year ' s chairman of the council was Bob Weston. At times an overwhelming amount of Trojan Spirit can lead to such things as a failure to sign in on time. These are the everyday problems the Judiciary Council is faced with. ' VANDIVER The Student Council is the backbone of student government association at Mississippi Delta Junior College. The main duties of the Student Council are to uphold and execute the constitution, and to study in an orderly and democratic tnanner all matters pertaining to student life and student problems on campus. Leaders are elected annually by popular vote of the student body. This year ' s officers of the Student Council were Bobby Bassi, President: Sheila Giardina, Vice-President ; and Marsha Morphis, Secretary-Treasurer. 1 The duty of the Student Council Election Committee is to preside over all elections and to conduct the counting of ballots under the supervision of a faculty member. The purpose of the committee is to see that all campus wide elections are held in a fair and proper manner. The chairman of the committee. Sheila Giardina, was appointed by SGA President Bobby Bassi. All suggestions and desired changes are discussed and voted on by the student council. 25
