This yearbook is the result of the accumulated assistance of several persons : the staff and the assistant editor, Evelyn Cocilova; Mrs. J. D. Stonestreet, the sponsor of the Retrospect, who has given unsparingly of her effort and her time when she could afford neither; Mr. Les Lamb and Mr. Dewey Sanford of Lamb ' s Studio in Greenwood, Mississippi, photographers for the yearbook and sympathetic advisors to the bewildered editor; Rickie Anderson, the art editor for the Retrospect; Walter Harrison, the school photographer, who never failed to help in time of need ; Mrs. Abrams and her art students, who designed the cover for the Retrospect; the entire faculty and administration, who have assisted me beyond the call of duty just by being the nice people they all are; and the Benson Printing Company, very able and patient publishers of the 1967 Retrospect. I thank you all for everything you have done to help me with my preparation of this yearbook and even more for your invaluable morale-boosting amidst my confused frustration. This has been a year of preparation, not only for MDJC students, but for the school itself. Under the direction of President Hall, who merits much praise for his leadership and the admirable job he has done, the building program to enlarge and improve our school verges on materialization. In a few years the 1967 Retrospect will picture a school as antiquated as the 1927 Retrospect does now. And so, Mississippi Delta, as Emerson prophesied to Whitman, I greet you at the beginning of a great career. Shirley Ferguson, Editor

This past year at Mississippi Delta Junior College has epitomized a multi-purposed journey. Some students embarked on this journey to delay the desires of our duty- minded uncle; some to ensnare some victim of the opposite sex; some to elude home and its confines ; some to have something to do; and others to further their education. Although the projects of some of us have really not been to acquire more schooling, all of us have gained more education — knowledge or a lesson from the lack of knowledge. This book is an attempt to relate this year ' s journey through the biography of an ordinary day, for these ordinary days have made up the school year 1966-1967.
