C. and S. A.H. S. Once upon a time some Mis- siss ippians had a dream of an institution where young Missis- sippians could begin their ascent of the ladder of higher education. This institution was to provide for its students unexcelled op portunities. It was to provide a broad program of general educa- tion; it was to provide preparation for further college work; it was to provide a variety of programs de- signed to prepare a student for employment upon completion of his school work. Early in 1926 Sunflower Junior College was founded in connection with Sun- flower Agricultural High School, previously established in 1911. The dream of those men has come true. Today the Alumni of S. J. C. and S. A. H. S. are scattered throughout the United States in positions of trust and leadership. From its beginning Sunflower Junior College has achieved dis- tinction among the junior colleges of the state --in the future it will achieve even greater distinction. S. J. C. is not only a great center of learning: it is a place where love, friendship, and undying loyalty prevail, a place where the Sunflower Spirit is a reality, and a place where all people work together for a greater future and a better world.
