Weeks; Alber Stew- art; Sam Riddell; Charles Hesske; Tom Smith; Murray Collum; Buddy Tolbert; Mgr. Wayne Wyatt. Coach Mihialic reports the largest squad of track prospects since before the war. We should have a good season with such a large field. Last year our squad did very well in the tournament. We won five first places in the meet, including double win by Bean Martin and James Leverette. Bean car- ried off honors in the mile and in the half mile run and Leverette swept the two hurdles. Earl Ray Mann completed the winners by winning the javelin toss. Although we lost all three of these men we still expect a fine squad. The high school is planning on entering in the Delta track meet on a full scale for the first time, and we hope they have a successful season. S. I. C. BASEBALL Our college nine had a successful season for the first time in several years. With James Carpenter and Andy Ashton starring on the mound our boys won more than their share of the games. Some of the boys returning for another year are James Carpenter, Bobby Hooker, Buddy Tolbert, George Lipe and Jack Grissette. This year with a large number of new players we should go a long way in Junior College competition. The High School again fielded a victorious team, winning the Sunflower County Championship for the second year in succession. We placed 3 boys on the all county team: Paul Shaw, Bobby Graham and Joe Tom Brown. With Paul, Bobbv, Jimmy Shaw, Curtis Jamison, Leon Upchurch, Willard Roberts, and Billy Dodd returning for another year the team should do it again. 7 •4 SHOP WITH OUR ADVERTISERS CHEVROLET MME ONE Uli DO IT Ul Compliments of Hiiiiiphrey ' s County Grocery Company The House of Quality Belzoni, Mississippi Compliments of The CURRY LUMBER COMPANY Itta Bena, Mississippi Compliments of DIAMOND ' S DEPARTMENT STORE Phone 3162 Moorhead, Mississippi KLUMOK ' S The Delta ' s Newest Department Store A Complete Line of CROSLEY APPLIANCES SHELVADOR REFRIGERATORS CROSLEY RADIOS, RANGES AND WASfflNG MACHINES Phone 263 Compliments of The Low Price Store Itta Bena, Mississippi Central Ec|nipnient and Indianola, Mississippi Service Company OLIVER FARM EQUIPMENT WESTINGHOUSE HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES Sales and Service Indianola, Mississippi Compliments of C.
