PRESIDENT ' S MESSAGE During the session 1947-48, remarkable strides have been made in the development of an all-round program. The spirit of Sunflower Junior College is surging forth. The football team has shown a great spirit to win; the band has made unusual progress; the glee club has become a fine or- ganization; the dramatic club presentations are excellent. We are all justly proud of this fine demonstration of ability and spirit. Sunflower Agricultural High School was founded in 1911. The high school was developed for the purpose of meeting the need of rural boys and girls who did not have access to any other high school. The high school is accredited by the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. Sunflower Junior College was established in 1 926. The junior college has continuously held the respect both of the people it serves and of the senior in- stitutions to which its students go. Sunflower Junior College is a member ot the American Association of Junior Colleges and the Southern Asociation of Secondary Schools and Colleges. Sunflower Junior College and Agriculture High School is trying to meet the needs of the community. With the cooperation of the faculty, student body, citizens of the area, we can plan our program in such a way as to improve our community life and make this a better area in which to live. W. B.
