SUPER FRESHMEN 1986!! beanies, visors, t-shirts, and nametags helped everyone on campus recognize , the 1986 freshman class for the first two weeks of the fall semester. Jeff Blackwell, along with a group of upperclassman, planned a week of activities to greet the bright new faces on campus. Church services, water balloon fights, cookouts, and family-group meetings all gave the new students plenty of opportunities to meet their fellow students. Class officer elections. Clash of the Classes, and Indian Day ended the two fun-filled weeks of activities. As S.B.A. Attorney, Jeff Blackwell worked hard at running a very smooth Orientation program. The freshmen class was very go xl about participating in the events planned. They must have taken to heart the words of the campus officials who reminded them that they would get out of orientation exactly what they put in it. The 1986 Freshman Class did prove to be “SUPER FRESHMEN.” Jay Albritton, Vicksburg, proves that he is a “SUPER FRESHMAN”, sporting his beads and feathers and the ever-present freshman T-shirt. As Paul Smith hangs a campaign poster, other students gather around THE WALL for the usual 10 a.m. Friday meeting. Although a real Choctaw Indian would not have been carrying a Biology book, they would have dressed much like this freshman. Susan Walker and Kenny Redford walk to their third period class showing their newly found Choctaw spirit. Many freshmen join the upperclassmen in the Quad to enjoy the last of the warm weather and to watch freshmen who broke the rules during orientation pay for their mistakes. FRESHMAN ORIENTATION
