When MHS moved this past summer, there were several changes made in the system, but three of these affected nearly everyone. The first of these was the end of the open campus system wh ich brought about the The new facilities need for study halls. The cafeteria was chosen as the scene for the study periods and is also the setting for major change two, closed lunch periods. All full day students are now required to eat lunch at the school whether it be ala carte, type A or brought. The third difference is the facilities themselves. New facilities — 7

The new MHS resource center Mrs. Rosen, the school librar- ian, went from a small undersized library, to a giant Resource Cen- ter practically overnight. She was not alone — to help her were two librarian-clerks: Mrs. Jacks in charge of circulation, and Mrs. Stevenson in charge of media and audio visuals. The beautiful new Resource Center can boast of having approximately forty-two carrels with facilities for individ- ual study. The library proper is a sunken study area with ample number of tables and chairs. The total capacity for the center is one-hundred and eighty people. The library is provided to make studying pleasurable, rather than drudgery. With surroundings like this, who could complain? Chuck Hester takes advantage of a free moment and exchanges thoughts with another student. Mr. Fessenden ' s English class becomes acquainted with the new facihties. ' — Library
