They make a fine team to represent our tribe. These girls have contributed a lot in raising team morale by creating a lot of enthusiasm at our pep sessions, and when our tribe hit the trail, they were there backing them all the way. Let's give credit to these cheerleaders who are Joyce Burchard, Judy Coe, Barbara Baker, Suzanne Lee, Shirley Huston, and Gaylene Atkinson. The leaders of our papooses and their team were the freshman cheerleaders The names of lhese cheerleaders are Hearlene Sloderback, Sandy Todd, Jerri Heironimus, and Ann Lentz. Indians using type- writers! Of course, nothing but the best for Mississinewa Indians. Mrs. Lois Jean Resler, a student teacher from Ball State, helps a troubled Indian with his masterpiece. Instead of using smoke signals our Indians use speed in sending messages by typing as fast as 60 words a minute. 102 Mr Roy McKee is the chief of the biology classes which teach you more about the study of plants and animals. The little Indians have worked on many proiects: collecting leaves, bi- secting insects and fish, and col- lecting grasshoppers. They also took a field trip to become better ac- quainted with nature and its sur- roundings. .43 .. . .1 ni 'BR For Future Days l .. . These Indians may learn a great deal about their an- cestors in this class. 2 Here in the home economics de- partment our little Indian maidens learn the basic fundamentals in cooking and sewing in preparation for being the future squaws. Miss Smith is well qualified in pre- paring the maidens for their role in the future. vii .1 ,.-- 'Xl Mr. Charles Meyer, teacher of the shop classes, is very capable of instructing our braves to learn to work with their hands. He also teaches the mechanical drawing classes. The braves are divided into two groups, general shop and ad- vanced shop. The braves can choose the type of work they want to do.
