Text from Pages 1 - 136 of the 1973 volume:

The 1973 Buckeye represents the activi- ties of the students at Mississinavva Valley. Mississinawa Valley is outstanding in sports, academics, and activities, for which we should all be very proud. This year we have enjoyed good basket- ball. baseball, crosscountry, and track teams. We have sponsored participants in aca- demic and music contests. Our clubs have sponsored social activities and have helped in community projects. For our students here, this is just the start of success. Using our school experi- ence, we go on to bigger and brighter horizons. This book is intended as a keepsake, a storehouse of memories, to recall the wonderful days spent in the corridors and class rooms of Mississinawa Valley. BORN FREE. as free as the wind blows as free as the grass grows. Born free to follow your heart. LIVE FREE. and beauty surrounds you. The world still astounds you each time you look at a star. STAY FREE. where no walls divide you. You're free as a roaring tide so there's no need to hide. LIVE FREE. and life is worth living. But only worth living if you're born free. A. contests. Out of these eight, Brenda Rammel came in second in the junior division, Debbie Schlechty came in first in the junior division, and Phyllis Denniston came in first in the senior division. These three went on to State contests held in Columbus on March 31. Debbie placed seventh and Phyllis placed first. Phyllis and Debbie then went to Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with Mr. and Mrs. Halley. Phyllis came in first in the national contest. On April 26, the B. O. E. had their annual awards banquet. Parents and teachers came to enjoy the supper and program. They were de- lighted to have with them two of the greatest entertainers on T. V., Mr. and Mrs. Bono, other- wise known as Sonny and Cher! The B. O. E. also had open house for the freshmen and sophomores interested in taking B. O. E.
