Mr. Allison's government class is structured with an atmosphere of openers which encourage each student to participate and to contribute in his own way. Questions and answers combined with general dis- cussion describes the typical classroom procedure. Classes are also encouraged to review and discuss current topics of interest. MR. CHRISTOPHER ALLISON American History Government, World History Sociology, Psychology Art I classes have had projects in 2 and 3 dimensional representations. Classes have studied from the magazine. Art and Man, including African art, Rembrandt, and early Renaissance. The Art II classes worked on ceramics, clay molds, plaster and wood sculptures. Both classes took trips to Dayton Art Institute and Randolph County Art Association Show. 37

The general math class has been reviewing the basic general mathematical operations on whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. They also had an in- troductxy unit on algebra and on personal finance. The algebra 1 and II classes have been studying the fundamental properties of algebra involving one and two variables and some trigonometry. MR. JOHN BUTCH Algebra I and II, Math 9, Senior Math MRS. VIRGINIA CARNOT Physics, English 9 and 10, Chemistry The English 9 students have studied the short story including selections by Edgar Allan Poe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Jesse Stuart. They have also studied spelling, vocabulary words, agreement of verbs, and the use of the library. Writing themes and reading books for reports were other things on the agenda. In Mrs. Oswalt's biology class, she teaches the functional know- ledge of various living organisms and the processes and principles involved in their life activities. In her advanced biology class, the students dissected preserved cats and fetal pigs received from the Wright State University branch at Celina. MRS.
