Helping missionaries understand the problems of language and communica- tion, he teaches anthropolog , engages in linguistic research in Soutllieast Asia, and serves as Associate Secretary for Translations in the American Bible Society. J. BUCHANAN MacMILLAN, M.M. Various courses in music and radio constitute Mr. MacMillan's teaching schedule. HARRY T. HARDWICK, M.A. Camping and hunting round out his busy schedule as teacher of Bible and Speech, advisor of the sophomores and Director of Counseling. He is a mem- ber of an Honor Society at N.Y.U. 1'1- DOROTI-IY R. HEIER, M.M. Music occupies the time of Dorothy Heier, instructor in brass instruments and member of the Music jury, who is working on her Ed.D. at the Teach- ers College of Columbia University. ,snr SQ! '17, J' Page 24 JAMES B. HARR, M.A. Active in student organizations, Mr. Hart coaches the Parsons and advises SAC and Mens' Domi Councils. He teaches English Literature and Com- position, works on his Ph.D. and keeps a detailed diary. RUTH I-IOFF, M.M. Playing classical guitar music, sew- ing, and engaging in outdoor sports furnish a change of pace for Ruth Hoff, instructor in Music Theory, Voice, Fundamentals of Music, and Speech Lab. MARGARET HOFFMAN, M.R.E. Toronto Institute of Linguistics bor- rows the summers of Miss Hoffman, instructor in English Composition and Introduction to Language. She teaches a Sunday School cass at the Nyack Lutheran Church.

STANHOPE, A.M. A former missionary, her teaching hours are spent in Spanish, History of Missions. Bible Basis of Missions, and Anthropology Seminar classrooms while reading, sewing, and stamp collecting provide relaxation. JOHN F. TAYLOR, B.D. Teacher of Speech, Bible, Apologetics, and Archaeo- logy and member of the Promotional and Guidance and Personnel Committees, he sponsors the Missionarian and Missionary Crusaders. An outside interest is sports. LILLIAN WILSON, M,M. Chickie's world revolves around music. Teaching piano, auditioning Christian Service groups, and accom- panying musical presentations take up her school time. In sriare moments, she is church organist at Simpson Memor- ia JOHN C. ZACHARIAS, M.A. Teaching Science-Survey and Biology, sponsoring the Fishers of Men, and working as a Library Committeeman constitute Mr. Zacharias' duties to the College. His hob- bies are hunting, fishing and camping. Page 26
