CHINA Jae Nm Y, .fafuff I AM Chu Lih Uin, a native of Hupeh. As a result of prosperity I began to lead a wild life-smoking tobacco and opium, gambling and night revelry. I spent little time at home and quarreled violently with my wife. One day a dis- astrous flood made me a pauper. I soon lost my friends, My efforts for a refor- mation proved futile, but in God's provi- dence I met an old acquaintance who Pled with me to visit the Gospel Hall. After many invitations from my con- verted friend, I relented. I listened carefully to the evangelist and one night after a striking dream, I asked to be made a new man. Christ did this and de- livered me from all my sinful habits. To- Clay my home is a happy one. My heart is joyful. My debts are paid. My busi- ness is prospering, and I've dedicated my life to God. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. l29 110' ... A Baptismal at Lusia V' . It -2 Headman of Dat, Sen fribe ' for 4 fif, -- .. Q' 1' I -. . . ' 53- . ' ' . ,f f - '-.. ' Q AA 5- . Among its four hundred million human souls, two hundred million have never been touched with the Gospel. These dark-skinned people are continually cry- ing out vainly to their many gods, seeking for heart rest, totally ignorant of God's plan of redemption which is the sole remedy for sin. It is impossible to fully realize lndia's degradation, the suffering of her child widows, her extreme fanati- cism, the moral filth of priests and temples, and the social crime of her caste system. However, through the force of politics, the caste of Untouchables has been recently outlawed. Surely the evangelization of this extremely difficult field presents a tremendous challenge to the Christian church. l3O
