ONE day when Piedros was investigating at dead man's trunk, he discovered an unusual pam- phlet. When he was informed by his 'neighbors that his discovery was a portion of the Bible, he visited a man who owned such a book, a Christian in a near-by village. As a result of his visit Piedros was soundly con- verted: however, he soon realized with deep re- gret that he could not read this new-found treas- ure. He prayed fervently that God would open his eyes and enlighten his mind. His prayer was an- swered! Now a chapel stands over the spot where Pied'ros found' the Scripture portion, and? thirty sincere Christians gather for worship at five o'clock ' Q ll lg. vigil Evil Outh I 4 . ,VI 6 l IIIGIICS . The immensity of her burden, the weariness of her frail body, and the sad- ness of her countenance cause us to stand in awe. Although this lady represents only one class of people in South America, men and women throughout that continent are weighed down with a great burden. Yes, there are .many types of people living in South America, but they all have their burden. Some who are living in the depths of immorality have never heard of the true God. Others are called 'Christians', but we regret that too often these people have heard only enough about Christ to change their names but not their lives. Thus we see the people ot South America trudging wearily under their load. Theirs is a burden of sin, disease, and' fear. Real peace and ioy have come to those of us who hge accepted,Jesus Christ as our Saviour. We have cast our burdens uponitlim, andi our,.-hearts have been warmed by his redeeming love.
