222 Robert Met? Princip il Remember the value of time how you preserveo the pleasure of patience and your improvement as a person. Your time in high school has been recorded as a place in history. My sincere hope is that you can and will remember Mission Viejo High School as a place of personal satisfac- tion and hard work, a place where you were prepared to meet the trials and tribulations of the future. William Mathews, in speaking of Durable Satisfaction, once said a great deal of life consists in doing perfectly, or at least to the best of one's ability, everything which he attempts to do. There is a sense of satisfaction, a pride in surveying such a work a work which is rounded, full, exact, complete in all its parts . . . which the superficial man, who leaves his work in a slovenly, slipshod, half-finished condi- tion, can never know. lt is this conscientious completeness which work into art. The smallest thing, well done, becomes artistic. Mission Viejo High School is a better place be- cause you were here. l continue to be hopeful that you will always remember that its only worth having when its worth working for and you are satisfied with the outcome. Robert A. Metz, Principal X f 12 Symbol O Excellence l
