After a slow start losing their first two games, the tenth grade Diablos swept past their next six opponents. Included in this onslaught was a 38-22 rout of their former friends on arch rival EI Toro. Paced by Greg Jones, Mike Sweazy, Joe Blum, and Mitch Cheselka, this group of sophomores will give Mission a Varsity to be proud of. Freshmen Blaze New Trolls John White cleans up as the Frosh herd Costa Mesa. As usual, the Freshmen football team did an outstanding job of representing MVHS on their level. Highlighting another great season was the 28-0 thrashing of cross district rival El Toro. The line, anchored by 202 pound Barry Baker provided protection for the speedy frosh backfield. The frosh jayvees also cannot be forgotten. Five members of the 1972 JV team were varsity stalwarts this past season.
