Flutes and drums march ready to perform during a parade. Centuries ago Spanish explorers conquered the vast horizons. Today the Mission Viejo High School is thrilling Southern California audiences with the color and spirit of the old conquistadors. Bold new uniforms, bright flags and banners, and a unique fireworks pole trigger explosions of excitement every time the band proclaims it's first strains on the competition line. Yesterday's talent, pride, spirit and community support led to the dawning of the new Mission Band. For today and tomorrow, hard work and perseverance have begun the tradition and reputation of a brilliant and dominant marching organization. 1,-new Junior Dave Flattray shows his talent at an assembly. Drum major Stephanie Dodson leads the way. The M.V. Band waits impatiently before a half-time performance
