Mrs. June Gayron 5 Michelle With the purpose of promoting better understanding of our neighboring countries through their languages, Language teachers at Mission conduct classes that familiarize students with simple and complex dialects-such as French, Spanish, and German. Classroom activities range from learning the salutations of a country to complete translations of their novels.

,f 4 SCIENCE Those of us at Mission are very fortunate to have one of the best Science Departments around according to Mr. Alan Satterlee, head of the department. We have not only the normal college-prep courses but one step further: classes for the student who takes a science course because he wants to, not because he has to. This year, for example, our Super Science Department offered two new classes to the student body: Aviation Science, which teaches the student the basics of flying an airplane, and Ocean Marine Biology, which teaches the student the basics of biology, with an emphasis on marine life. But more important than any course in science anywhere is having teachers who care about teaching, and that is what makes our Science Department one of the best. i , Edwards

Spirit glows with pride in the girls who participated in the wide variety of sports offered: Field Hockey, Golf, Archery, Modern Dance, Gymnastics. Volleyball, Track 81 Field.
