What is a counselor? A counselor is a person who listens to you when you think you're failing Macrame 1 and says, You can do it, but thinks, She'll never make it. A counselor is a person who tells you to take Advanced Calculus E after you've barely completed Int. Algebra W, and has confidence that you'll pass. Bu't most of all, a counselor is a person equipped to handle the everyday mix-ups and hassles of student life. The problems that they must handle are numerous and diverse, but our counselors seek just and solid solutions, nonetheless. So, the next time you're handed an award for passing Advanced Finger Counting and are asked to make a speech, remember to thank your counselor, who made it all possible.

Smiling foces Sometimes it's hard to smile when you're responsible for 2200 students. But Mission's top administrators try hard to shine it on even when faced with an expertly t.p.'d campus and 488 baby Seniors. lt was hard to be happy after the valiant Diablos lost to arch rivals El Toro, but they managed a small simper. The spirit that prevails on our campus is enough to make anyone grin, though, note the faces of Principal Donald Ames, whose responsibility it is to keep the school running smoothly: Mr. Bruce Taschner, Assistant Principal in charge of purchasing. budgeting and athletics: and Mr. Thomas Tullar, who deals with students through the counselors, teachers, and curriculum. Activities Director Donald Martin and Dean of Students Alban Moreno also deal directly with students, as they come in contact with many during the day. The administrators' lives are not easy ones. The tune, or at least the message, is familiar to the people assembled on this page, as they work adeptly in aiding Mission's students with finding a book, finding a career, bandaging a scrape, and much much more.
