Boseooll Strikes Forth Diablo reliever Steve Pollien uncorks a blazing fastball past a Tustin batter in pre-league action. I Hitting was the key for Coach Harry Hilke and his Diablo Niners. The consistent bats of Dave Cooper, Jim Clouse, Greg Perry, Tony Richardson, and Eric Schmidt, plus the power of Dave Schmidt and Darrell Garner got the Mission Machine a bundle of runs. Unfortunately. a leaky defense and questionable mound corps gave up almost as many. Mission's pitching staff could be summed up with two words, Tim Taylor. When the slightly built senior was not starting he was often coming in to relieve and attempt to put out fires sparked by MV's other starters.
