FORWARD The turning wheel of time rolls on and, again, the Yearbook Staff presents another yearbook . . . THE MISSION 1960. The Yearbook Staff hopes with all sincerity that you will enjoy this book as much as we have enjoyed putting it out for you, the student body, faculty, and friends of Mission High School. Many hard worked hours, both in and out of school, have gone into the production of this journal. It has been a lot of work, but a lot of fun, as Well. I personally doubt if any one member of the staff will ever forget such things as our joumalism-yearbook picnic at Fairfax. To the seniors, this is your last Yearbook, the one book you will treasure for the rest of your lives. We hope that we have been able to include in it everything that you Wanted. We also hope that years from now, as you pause over these memorable pages of your MISSION 1960, it will bring back many memories of your alma mater, Mission High School. Now, I would like to start my many rounds of thanks. First, I would like to thank our printer and photographers. Without them, this yearbook would not be. Then, comes my wonderful staff for all of their complete cooperation, with a special thanks to my fall Co-Editor and Layout Manager, George Gooding, and Art Editor, Judy Larson, who also designed the cover of this journal. My grateful appreciation to the art staff for their many contributions. Even, to you, the students, go many thanks, for without a student body, again, there would be no yearbook. Last, but certainly not least, go my heartfelt thanks to Mrs. joan Bidwell, my advisor, who spent many long hours helping me. Also, to Mr. Louis Pacini, who later became our advisor, and Mrs. Dorothy Goodrich, the Art Advisor, thanks. Many years of success to you, Mission High School, the school witn the heart, and to all those who may pass through your mighty portals. I hope you will enjoy the MODERN BLACK AND WHITE MISSION 1960. Ellyn Wisherop Editor

MRS. MARGUERITE AL- LEN decided to retire from the teaching profession that she loves so much. Out of her 68 terms, all told, of teaching smiling faces, 24 years of faithful service were dedicated to Mission. Her first public school teach- ing experience in San Francisco began in Galileo High School where she taught for five years before she was appointed to her position at Mission High School. dents wish to pay her honor for being a loyal and faithful teacher in the fields of Gallagher Marsh, Thomas and Gregg shorthand, and family relations. To pay our tribute, We the students of Mission High School wish to dedicate this Spring 1960 Year- book to you - MRS. MARGUERITE ALLEN. Page 6
