This Journal is aimed at capturing the feel- ing which was Mission high school in the year 1953-54. Each and every NMISSICNH heretofore has drawn a neat picture of Mission during the corresponding year. This is, in part, our inten- tion also. However We believe we have effected a change in that we are portraying the year in chronological sequence, that is from September to June. In this journal we hope to keep ever alive 1' in our memories leasant recollectionof ames, ,P dances, assemblies, carnivals, plays, operettas, and general classroom endeavor. We have also tried to o a little dee er than this, attem tin to conve to ou the S P P g Y Y personality, so to speak, of the school. The slang, fads, customs, attitudes and beliefs of students are as much a part of this year as the actual activities. More important, however, is the fact that We of the Journal staff would like you to remember this year as the Happiest Year of Our Lives. This book is in essence an elabo- ration of that theme.
