Hood 1915-1970 Probably the most loved of all teachers in Mission lligh School, Mr. Forrest L. Hood will be missed by students and faculty members alike. Mr. Hood died January 13, alter a lengthy illness. 'llhose who knew him best will always remember Mr. Hood for his kindness and gentle ways, but he will also be remembered for his knowledge of the English language and his manner of getting it across to his students. Because of his love for MHS and what it stands for, Mr. Hood willed his entire estate to the high school in the form of The Josephine and Forrest Hood Scholarship Fund. Through his generosity, a deserving student each year will get to attend the college of his ehoiee. A man who liked to be around people and who especially liked to be around his students, Mr. Hood stipulated in his will that the recip- ient of the scholarship should make occasional visits to his gravesite to see that it is in order. 1n his memory, students and faculty members started a memorial fund this year to purchase a plaque and books for the high school library in his name. lnseribed on the plaque will be: To him in the love ol' learning devoted his life to instruction of the young, we inseribe this tribute: Green he the turf above you, Friend of our better days, None knew you but to love you, Nor named you but to praise.
