PATRIUTISM KAY BERGNER THOMAS ARKENS The Twelve members of Student Council have put into eFfect the system of raising and lowering the American Flag each school day, when the weather per- mits. The flag is located at the front entrance of the high school. The flag waves freely in the breeze from the beginning of the first hour class to the end of the sev- enth hour class. The Student Council, representing the students from every class in the school government, feels that the Mishicot students are proud of the American flag and what it stands for. They are grateful to be living in the United States of America, where freedom rings out from coast to coast. They don't look at this duty as a task but as an honor to serve their country. The flag raisers are Kay Bergner and Tom Arkens, senior members of Student Council. 'IT

CHHDANCE The Student Council consists of 3 students from each ofthe four classes. The duty of these students is to rep- resent the class to which they belong. A student council member is expected to make decisions which he thinks will benefit his fellow students. This year the student council held meetings every other week. At these meet- ings they had discussions on items of interest to the students. The main topics of discussion were the open- ing of the gym for recreation at noon, a roller-skating party, corridor benches, and trying to obtain permis- sion to hold a school picnic from the school board. Representing the senior class were Tom Arkens, Kay Bergner, and Judy Eells. From the junior class came Dave Holmes, Don Holmes, and Bonnie Budysz. The sophomores were represented by Julie Rhein, Gary Princl, and Steve Koch. Terry Loberger, Judy Wiltert, and Bob Dvorak were representatives ot the freshmen. Mr. Kain acted as our advisor. The Student Council received student council pins toward the end of the year for their hard work in try- ing to represent the students and acting as the voice of the student body. MR.
