SCHULTZ - Administrator Class of i962 You were the first Freshman Class in the new high school building in September of 1958, and Therefore the first class to have the privilege of being educated all four years in this fine modern building. Those who worked for this structure, worked hard to make it a worthwhile reality. They knew that any goal that is worth- while should be given our best efforts. Similarly, your diploma is really only as vauable as the effort behind its attainment. So it will be all through life. No matter what you may choose to do after graduation, strive to work to the best of your ability and vitality. Only then can you find happiness and success. You have the ability. You and you alone can decide if it is worth the effort. Good Luck! Page Three CHOUL BO RD Left to rightfD. Schmoock, clerkg O. Stueck, R. Bruhn, D. Tuma, E. Suess, C. Spevacek, Treasurerf S. Yes, that hour we have all been working so diligently for ever since we first entered M H S four years ago. ln iust a few short weeks we will have attained a high school diploma and will leave the protection of these school walls and will be expected to go, as our predecessors did, into the world and become a part of society. We must enter into the world at a time when there is disagreement and unrest throughout the world. It is in this world, whether we be profes- sional, semi-skilled, or a common laborer, that we must find a place and be a credit to not only our community, but to our country as well. Page Ten When we entered M H S as freshmen, was to us a goal in the far horizon. As with graduation imminent, the four years preparing for it seemed to have gone by faster than anticipated. Our teachers, advisors, and parents who worked with us for these years, have made graduation possible and without their t this goal could not have been achieved. We to express our sincerest thanks to each and . one of them at this time. We also hope that o future success will reflect upon this school in way that will prove to be a credit to those peop who worked here. Officers of the Mishicot Jr. Dairymen's Associa- tion for 1961 are: President, Gerald Sneberk, Vice President, Gary Schmoock, Secretary, Aloyce Seidl, Treasurer, Gary Thielbar, Reporter, Robert Rezek, and Manager, Myron Mleziva. The MJDA is an important part of the Vo-Ag program and consists of students who are carrying out a program of dairy herd improvement in their home herd. By carrying out such a program, they are able to determine the production of the indi- vidual cows in order that poor producers may be culled from the herd. Replacement stock can then be selected from dams with good production. Also, a systematic program of feeding according to p duction can be followed and close records can kept on the breeding program. There are 48 members in the Mishicot Asso tion, and it is affiliated with the Wisconsin Dairymen's Association and participates actively their program of work. Delegates will attend the District Convention Casco, Wisconsin on March 20. Delegates will a attend the state Convention and dairy show, wh will be held at Mondovi, Wisconsin on June and 19. The answer is monthly. Here's a Tracer of the Oriole before the students receive it. Reporters are responsible for fact-finding. This information is then relayed to the editors. Their OK sends the material to be dummied and put on make up sheets to give an idea what the paper will then be like. Proofreaders check the articles which are then stenciled. Stenciled articles are mimeo- graphed and the paper is assembled and ready for distribution to stu- dents, faculty, and subscribers. .. Special features of the Oriole include student comments on ideas which reflect the ideas of the entire student body, Platter Chatter which keeps up with the modern records and singers, and a preview of birth- days and coming events. The persons pictured here are the members of the Oriole staff who try to bring you a school paper which all enioy. Page Forty-one TUDE T ECRET RTE B. Frazier, J. Chase, G. Thiele, J. Skarvan, D. DRIVER EDUCATION For eleven years Mishicot High School has conducted a course in both the classroom Drivers Education and the Behind the Wheel Train- ing. The learning experiences involving both classroom and practice driving instruction are a significant part of general education for prepar- ing youths to live safely, efficiently, and responsibly. It is a subiect which is in keeping with many others taught in the high school to pre- pare young people to become better citizens. Drivers Education is definitely a large factor in the reduction of highway traffic accidents.
