A native of Watertown, Wisconsin, Mr. Schultz mov- ed to Milwaukee with his parents at the age ot five. There he attended St. Roses Parochial School, West Divi- sion High School, and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. ln June 1940 he received his Bachelor of Science de- gree with the following ma- iors: Education, Physics, General Science, and Mathe matics. ln his freshman year, he was appointed student di- rector of the NYA, a posi- tion which he held for the next four years. His outside activities included football and track for which he re- ceived awards. As a symbol of our deep appreciation, we, the Sen- ior Class of 1960, dedicate this issue of the Arrow to Mr. Otto H. Schultz, admin- istrator of the Mishicot Com- munity School System. ln his senior year, he was chosen one of the ten most outstanding graduates of that year, the Honor Ten. Upon graduation, Mr. Schultz accepted the position of supervising principal at Mishicot for 1940-41. At that time he was the youngest high school principal in the state of Wisconsin. He was inducted into the services in June 1941 six months before the United States en- tered World War ll. A member of the famed 42nd Rainbow Division, he spent one year of active duty in Europe. At the close of'the war, he served as military governor of an Austrian town. During his five years of military service, Mr. Schultz achieved the rank of captain. While in Europe, he spent a brief vacation in the Alps at the hunting lodge of the munitions manu- facturer, Krupp. On his return to the United States in January 1946, Mr. Schultz remained in Milwaukee teaching at the Milwaukee Vocational School and at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. In 1947, a vacancy occurred in the administrative department of the Mishicot system, and Mr. Schultz was invited to return. Mr. Schultz holds his unlimited life certificate making him eligible to act as superinten- dent in any high school in the state. Through the years, he has been an active member of the Mishicot Lions Club, serving a term as its president. He and his wife, Dorothy, are the parentsof three sons: Otto James, John, and Alan. They reside in Mishicot. Guiding us through our high school career, Mr. Schultz has been both friend and coun- selor, never too busy to listen to our small grievances and help us solve our personal prob- lems. We wish to thank him for giving his time so generously to our individual and group activities and for encouraging us to ever higher goals of achievement. ln return, we offer him our highest respect and esteem.
