Young printers ran off Mi-Hi Guides and teachers' directories. Novice drafts- men drew views of 3-D objects: blocks, gears, and micrometer stop gauges. Future architects built model houses out of balsa wood. Preparing students for jobs was the aim of the business education department. Girls pounded typewriters at rates up to 80 words a minute, flip- ping their pages over quickly on ten-minute writ- ings.
