Y J. .tai . c gas activities WHO: Dave Baker, Beffye Young and Roy Garlif WHEN: the Monday affer the Thespian play DAVE. Remember that scene Beryl started laughing? BETTYE. He was trying so hard to keep his stage presence, and then the poor guy had to laugh. ROY. The way Tinker was looking at him . . . no wonder! BETTYE. Talking about laughing . . . I was on the opposite side of the stage where I could see the kids waiting for their cues. They had the funniest expressions on their faces. I would see someone lying on the floor relaxing and all of a sudden they'd jump up and get all tense before their cue. DAVE. In the first act, one of the settlers forgot her line. It was my cue line and Ronald's cue to start the tractor. Well, it hit me all of a sudden. I was just standin' there waiting for that line, and it didn't come. Boy, that scared me! BETTYE. I think one of the most horrid parts is before I go on. I always get a case of stage fright and shake all over. ROY. Thursday night, it didn't bother me. I just had one hambur- ger before I went on, but Friday night I had steak and potatoes and when it came time for me to go on, was I ever sick! DAVE. I about died laughing after the play when they chased Danneker all over the cafeteria. I bet every girl in the play kissed him. BETTYE. I got the first one though. I was there when the curtain closed. 23
