Fi l ! X, 9 ll WHO: Sue Mofis and Nancy Lo'H' WHEN: fhe day before Mr. Smifh's biology classes dissecfed frogs SUE. We're going to cut up a frog tomorrow. I wonder what we'll have to do? NANCY. Well, gee whiz, I've never seen the inside of a frog be- fore. I wouldn't know. SUE. It's just like a human, practically, he told us. NANCY. I've never seen the inside of a human either, I'm sorry to say. SUE: I wonder if my frog will have five eyes? NANCY. What made you think they have five eyes? SUE. Well, the grasshopper had five eyes. NANCY. Yes, but frogs aren't grasshoppers. Oh, the funniest thing! You know we didn't have to keep our grasshopper parts, but I put the legs in my pocket and the next day my mother shook my skirt, and the legs fell out. She just about had a fit! SUE. Say, did you have trouble taking the mouth parts out? NANCY. Did I ever! You know that first day we were working on them, I was hurrying like mad . . . didn't think I'd get finished, so I took them all out that one day. Then I found out we had an- other day to work on them. Was I mad! SUE. The first ones were easy, but when we got down to those that stick out . . . oh, you know. NANCY. Yeah, the first maxilla and second maxilla are the hardest. C USSBS
